Stacey Dash just made things more awkward for everyone after she made an cryptic appearance at the Oscars on Sunday night. Attendees of the 88th Academy Awards seemed puzzled by her presence on stage and host, Chris Rock didn't seem to help when he named her the new director of the Oscars' Minority Outreach Program.

Rock claimed that the Academy wanted to fix the issue African American actors, and actress seemed to be having with the organization.

While walking on stage, the audience appeared to laugh instead of give had claps.

Accepting her new position, Dash said in a short statement on stage: "I cannot wait to help my people out. Happy Black History Month." Yep, a true pause, and 'wait did that just happen' moment for most. If you're not understanding why the entire moment at the Oscars was weird, let's help you out. It all started when celebrities, like Jada Pinkett Smith, and her husband, Will Smith started to boycott the awards this year due to the lack of diversity in nominations. After that the hashtag, #OscarsSoWhite was born, and began to trend.

Fed up, Dash claimed that she was sick of the entire situation and said that BET and Black History Month needed to end. "Because we have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard," Dash said during a segment of Fox and Friends.

After her joke, and moment on stage, Dash made it clear about her actions Sunday night. She wrote in her blog: "When they added ME to increase the diversity, I'm sure many black people rolled their eyes. I'm not "black enough," they say. But guess what? I've heard that all my life. I would rather be a free thinking, black than a cookie cutter black who thinks - and votes - just like all my friends."

Did you like the joke? "Black Twitter" has already started to have a field day with this one.
