Xiaomi has been looking to outshine the Korean giant Samsung in its own backyard, as the tech giant is looking forward to the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix. Samsung, on the other hand, will look to upstage Apple as the world's leading smartphone manufacturer. If everything goes according to expectation, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix will go up against the Samsung Galaxy S8 in a battel of giants.

The release date of the Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix is still a mystery and based on Xiaomi's track record of releasing their gadgets, which is simply unpredictable. For the retail price, Xiaomi smartphones are known for its affordable price and it is rumored to be around $370-440. One the other side for Samsung Galaxy S8, it was initially reported to be released in April, but there were also reports that are indicating that the release will be delayed for further tests, for retail, it is rumored to cost $810.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix is reported to have a bezel-less with a 100 percent screen-to-body ratio. It will sport a retractable front camera and a software-based home button. However, there are also reports saying that it could possibly have a fingerprint scanner.

According to the recent reports, the Samsung Galaxy S8 on the other hand will ditch the 3.5 mm jack. It will also have curved edges and also a bezel-less with an edge-to-edge display. However, contrasting the Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is reported to only have 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix is reported to feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with a 2k resolution. As for the Samsung Galaxy S8, it is said to sport a 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch AMOLED display models, but there are also several reports indicating that Samsung is working on a 6-inch AMOLED display model.

The first model will be powered by an Exynos 8895 chip that will be sold in India, while the other will have a Qualcomm processor which will be sold worldwide. According to the report by 9to5 Google, the Snapdragon 835 will have an increase in performance of up to 27%, rise in area efficiency up to 35%, and up to 40% less power consumption when compared to its predecessors.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix will be having two versions of memory combination. One is 256 GB model with 6 GB of RAM and another is 128 GB with 6 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is will also have two variants as well, with 64 and 128 GB internal memory (expandable via dual micro SD cards) coupled with 8 GB RAM.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix will feature a 16 MP Dual-LED flash rear camera and a 8 MP front-facing camera. While the Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature 2 rear cameras: 13 MP and 12 MP. As for its camera features, hopefully, it will be more powerful than its predecessors.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix is said to have a wireless fast charging feature that is capable of charging from zero percent to 60 percent within 30 minutes. As for the Samsung Galaxy S8, it is said to have wireless headphones, wireless charging, possibly an S Pen, and two AI voice assistants called Bixby and Kestra.

Based on the information gathered, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has more things to offer (including the Google Daydream). However, there is one thing that we can expect from Xiaomi: innovative designs. Xiaomi Mi 6 Mix will give good competition to the Galaxy S8.
