5 Reasons To WATCH Josh Holloway, Sarah Wayne Callies' 'Colony' Premiere On USA Network!

Created by Carlton Cuse (The Strain) and Ryan Condal (Hercules), USA Network just days away from the premiere of Colony. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss why Josh Holloway (Lost) and Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead) make this sci-fi show a must-see TV event.

As we previously mentioned, Colony is set in the near future of Los Angeles. The city of angels now exists in a state of occupation by a force of outside intruders. There are some people who actually choose to collaborate with the extraterrestrial authorities and benefit from the new order. There are also others who rebel against the system and suffer the consequences. Will Bowman (Holloway) and his wife, Katie (Callies) struggle to keep their family together in this new world.

We have 5 reasons why we're so anxious to watch Colony:

5) Can We Talk About Sawyer From Lost?

After playing James "Sawyer" Ford, the conniving and sarcastic anti-hero, on Lost, the Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol action star developed his acting chops as the leading man on Intelligence. Holloway knows how to keep that charisma of his going when the camera is poised at him. The USA drama benefits from the chemistry between Holloway and Callies.

4) She Was On Prison Break For Crying Out Loud!

Before she was slaying zombies on The Walking Dead as Lori Grimes, this critic will always remember Callies as nurse Sara Tancredi from Prison Break. Callies held her own alongside her tough guy co-stars Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller. If she can handle herself against a horde of zombies and an onslaught of machismo, Callies sure knows how to stay alive in an alien apocalypse.

3) It's A Smart Sci-Fi Show On USA!

After watching pilot at New York Comic Con, this critic loved how director Juan José Campanella gave a European vibe to the pilot. Like the 1983 V miniseries, Colony evokes a metaphor for Nazi Germany. Notice how this futuristic setting is established in the pilot. Everyone in Los Angeles has to ride a bicycle and there is hardly any street traffic going on in the background.

2) The Ensemble Cast!

Adrian Pasdar (Heroes) and Kathryn Morris (Cold Case) play a married power couple in the freshman season. In recurring roles, Nolan (Pasdar) is an important player in the political game of the occupational government. Charlotte (Morris) is a a cultural director and patrician in the Green Zone, Thora Birch (American Beauty) plays Morgan, who happens to be a software engineer with a conscience. Carl Weathers (Rocky) will also show up too. I can already tell the show is going to be awesome!

1) What's Not To Love!

You have two leads who have instant chemistry together! There's an ensemble cast growing in each episode! It's a smart sci-fi drama that has something to say! Did I mention this is a Lost reunion between Josh Holloway and co-showrunner Carlton Cuse? Damn right I'm going to watch and so should you!

Colony will premiere January 14, 2016 on USA Network.

Readers, are you excited to see Colony?
