'Batman' Movie: Did Ben Affleck Just Confirm That He Will Direct Bruce Wayne's Solo Film?
The highly anticipated Batman standalone film may already have a star and a co-writer in Ben Affleck, but will the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor also be the movie's director? Affleck has previously declined to address the topic, but his latest statement on the film might reveal his interest to direct it!
In an interview with USA Today, Affleck was asked if he would direct Batman's solo flick. The Gone Girl actor chose his words carefully, but they still implied what everyone wants to hear.
"I'll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this," Affleck said.
It certainly sounds like the Argo director is already considering the idea of taking on the helm for the Batman movie. In addition to that, he might already be taking pointers from Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder on how to deal with the project.
"In working with [Snyder] and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale," Affleck said.
The actor's statement may sound like he is praising Snyder's work on BvS, but it also confirms his interest in the Batman film.
Affleck is already co-writing the Batman movie screenplay with Geoff Johns and will reprise his role as the Caped Crusader. Although it sounds like the Batman v Superman star already has too much on his plate, fans still believe that he is the perfect choice to direct the film.
