‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’ Season 3 Promo Embraces Negative Reviews
Last Week Tonight host John Oliver is well aware that he has some haters. But instead of letting them get the best of him, he decided to use them as material for the Season 3 promo of his HBO series.
In the below video, Oliver takes on his negative reviews, his haters and yes, even Donald Trump, who once claimed that the comedian's HBO show was "very boring," and therefore, decided to turn down an invitation to appear on the show.
Which was interesting to Oliver considering the show never once invited Donald Trump on their show.
Despite the negative reviews (from merely some people), Oliver isn't using the promo time to defend himself against them; he apparently actually agrees with them.
Speaking as "the most authoritative voice in all of news," as the promo suggests, the former Daily Show correspondent spends the minute-long promo agreeing with a varying number of negative reviews, from The Wall Street Journal to the former Vice President of FIFA, Jack Warner.
And of course, Cher.
Yes, the Cher, who claimed that the "comedian fool"—Warner's words—has a "wee rat face."
So, be sure to catch the series that is reportedly "more unpleasant than a diuretic," according to the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, this coming Valentine's Day, Sunday, Feb. 14 at 11 p.m. on HBO.
After all, how else would you spend your Valentine's Day?
