THE FOLLOWING Recap Episode 9 'Love Hurts' (SPOILERS) Episode 10 Preview Clips, 'Guilt' [VIDEOS] Joe Knows Where Claire Is, Will Ryan Save Her?

Last week's episode of FOX's The Following, entitled "Love Hurts," left us all on the edge of our seats with a cliff hanger. We got to see just what some of Joe Carroll's "followers" are willing to do to write their own chapters in his masterpiece. Agent Weston is still unconscious from the previous episode's interrogation, so when a murder pops up killing women named Claire Matthews, Ryan Hardy is felling much more guilt than usual. Perhaps that is why tonight's episode gets the title "Guilt?" (SPOILERS TO FOLLOW)

After some crazy murders by "follower" Amanda Porter, the FBI finally tracks down a still-living target at a concert who is being pursued by the murderer. These killings are a message to Hardy for having Joe's wife cheat on the professor with him. Amanda does not like cheating considering she murdered her husband and his mistress for doing it to her. Also, while in pursuit of Amanda, Hardy shoots and kills Louise, the lead woman of Carroll's group, mid-sentence. It was pretty awesome. At the end of the day, one victim is saved and Amanda is arrested. It looks like the FBI finally got a win, though it turns out Roderick tracks down the main Claire Matthews in the process.

Perhaps the biggest turning point in "Love Hurts" was the death of Paul. The relationship between him and Jacob had always been strange, but after being abandoned by Emma and the two had survived long enough to find refuge in Jacob's family getaway. Suffering from a stab wound, Paul is on the brink of death as Jacob continues to try to get in touch with Emma, who is safe and sound with Joe and the others. Fortunately for Jacob, Roderick decides to step in and ruin Emma's fun with Joe, and rescues Jacob. This is of course after Paul asks Jacob to kill him. Since we all know that Jacob has yet to commit murder, this is a huge step for him, and Paul feels that this is a worthy sacrifice for the bigger picture. An incredibly emotional death scene is followed by a heart pounding first encounter since the farmhouse between Jacob and Emma.

So what do we have in store for our favorite characters in "Guilt," tonight's episode? According to the official synopsis for the show:

"After discovering Claire's location, Joe sends two followers to capture her, but Ryan may be one step ahead. Meanwhile, Jacob struggles with recent decisions causing his reunion with Emma to be less than ideal. Also, a relationship from Ryan's past plays a significant role in his future."
