'Godzilla' News: Behind-The-Scenes Footage Released, Warner Bros. Remake to be Released in 2014, Director Gareth Edwards Starts Shooting Film in Vancouver, Canada [VIDEO]
The much-anticipated remake of the classic film "Godzilla" is expected to be released in theaters just over a year from now. On May 16, 2014, fans will get to see the return of "Godzilla" to the big screen. Up until now, there hasn't been a great amount of news surrounding the film, but there has just been some behind-the-scenes footage released. Director Gareth Edwards is in the process of shooting the film now and Canadian news channel CTV provided a news report following the latest with the "Godzilla" film.
The "Godzilla" remake started filming last week in Vancouver, but fans have yet to see any footage or even pictures of the new monster. The IMDB movie storyline reads, "A giant radioactive monster called Godzilla awakens from eons of sleep and attacks a city." This isn't news for fans considering this basically just sounds like the original film. However, CTV did provide fans with some video and a news report following the movie.
As CTV reports, the movie is blocking off a few streets over the next few days in order to film a scene from the upcoming movie. The small Vancouver town of Nanaimo will host the cast and crew of "Godzilla" for the next week or so (depending on the weather). Although no live action shots were shown, there were a number of weapons and military personnel shown. The movie will be using hundreds of locals as extras on the movie.
"Godzilla" will be starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Olsen among others. Although not much has been revealed regarding the blockbuster remake, this should be the start of a number of rumors and exclusive behind-the-scenes shots.
