Jamie Foxx has spoken about pulling a man from his wrecked vehicle after it crashed outside his home, but insists he is not a hero. The Oscar-winning actor rushed to help the man trapped inside his burning vehicle, with the man's family thanking Foxx for saving their relatives life.

The Collateral star spoke to reporters about the incident, stating he just did what he needed to when he helped the driver trapped in his Toyota Tacoma.

Foxx, 48, and another man used EMT scissors to break the window of the truck to climb in and remove him. The man, identified as 32-year-old Brett Kyle, was huddled over his seatbelt so the actor used the scissors to cut the seatbelt.

The Ray star said, "We cut if off from his neck and then, as the flames do come into the cabin, I lean back. I think what [the seatbelt[ did, it hit his legs which made him extend and when he extends, he extends out of the cabin. We pull him out and as we pull him out, within five seconds later, the truck goes up."

Brett's father, Brad Kyle, visited with Foxx at his estate on Tuesday afternoon to thank him for coming to his son's aid and saving his life.

The Hollywood star told Los Angeles' NBC4 that as he pulled the man from the truck, he told him, "You have angels around you."

Ventura County paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed Kyle to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in nearby Thousand Oaks.

The driver suffered a broken collarbone and a punctured lung and was in intensive care at the hospital Tuesday night.

Kyle spoke with NBC 4 from the hospital to thank Foxx for saving his life. He said, "They cut me out of the seatbelt. I didn't know who it was. Just the fact that one human being is willing to help another one means a lot to me."

Brett's father Brad later told reporters, "It doesn't matter to me who it was or what they do for a living. Just the idea that someone would do that is so much more than I could fathom."

He adds that his son has three other siblings and that they would have lost their brother if it hadn't have been for Foxx.
