Mark Ruffalo's Hulk in 'Thor: Ragnarok' Takes Road Trip Across the Universe

Although fans were saddened to hear that Mark Ruffalo's Hulk wouldn't be joining the better part of the Avengers in this year's Captain America: Civil War, everyone rests assured over his next appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. In a recent interview, the Oscar-nominated actor talks about his movie with Chris Hemsworth, calling it a road trip across the universe.

Ruffalo recently spoke to Empire magazine and the interview just surfaced online. In it, he was asked about the future of Marvel as well as the Hulk's in this growing superhero Cinematic Universe. Luckily, he was more than happy to share about what Ragnarok will feel like.

"There's a little bit of Midnight Run, with [Charles] Grodin and [Robert] DeNiro," said Ruffalo. "I feel like that's kind of where we're heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner."

When asked if it was directly a road movie, he replied it was "a universal road movie," specifying that while it's not the typical style (it is in space after all, so that would switch it up quite a bit), it definitely has "that structure."

For now, Ruffalo hasn't received the script (the film isn't due until the fall of 2017), but current discussions of the film are heading that way.

Movie Web reports that the script's currently going through a few rewrites. Stephany Folsom, who's worked on The Blacklist in the past, has been brought in to touch up on the screenplay penned by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle. Still, production hasn't been delayed, and it's been reported that filming will begin over the summer (winter in the south) in Australia.

Just a few days back, Ruffalo confirmed that two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett was in talks for a role in the third Thor installment, where she'd be taking the role of a yet-unnamed villain.
