WWE 'Raw' Results: March 25 Recap Last Night from Wells Fargo Center, 'WrestleMania 29' Match Card Updated, The Rock and John Cena Face Off, Fandango Vs Chris Jericho
"Monday Night Raw" from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA last night (March 25) was a solid show. More importantly, it was the second to last "Raw" before "WrestleMania 29" on April 7 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. WWE hyped up The Rock's return to "Raw" and they used it as an opportunity to build up his match with John Cena. The two wrestlers were apart of the main segment along with WWE Hall of Famers Bret Hart, Booker T, Dusty Rhodes, Mick Foley, and Jerry Lawler.
The show opened up with C.M Punk building up his match with the Undertaker. Punk and Paul Heyman still have Paul Bearer's urn, but Undertaker came out and got a few shots in on Punk before he and Heyman retreated with the urn. The only problem I have with this match is that everyone already knows the Undertaker will win at WrestleMania. Then again, I'm going to watch at the off chance that WWE throws a massive curve-ball and has Punk win.
Fandango was supposed to have his first official WWE match, but Chris Jericho ran out and attacked Fandango. Fandango retreated and Jericho faced Ziggler in the first match of the night. Jericho beat Ziggler, but Big E Langston came in and laid Jericho out. So Fandango and his lady dancer came back out and danced around Jericho. Fandango then beat up Jericho and gave him a top rope leg drop. Later in the evening Jericho announces he will face Fandango at "WrestleMania 29." We have another official match on the card.
Mark Henry and Ryback both had handicap matches last night where they annihilated their opponents. Henry defeated the Usos and Ryback beat 3MB. Antonio Cesaro defeated Alberto Del Rio by count out when Jack Swagger attacked Ricardo Rodriguez ringside and Del Rio had to chase them off. Del Rio went back in the ring and put Cesaro in his cross armbreaker finisher.
WWE Tag Team Champions team Hell No defeated the Primetime Players via a Kane chokeslam on Darren Young. Triple H came out to build up hype for his match with Brock Lesnar. Wade Barret interrupted to which Triple H kicked him in the groin and walked off. Barret would face The Miz next. The Miz ended up beating Barrett figure four leglock. Will these two face each other again at "WrestleMania 29?"
The Shield defeated The Great Khali, Zack Ryder, and Justin Gabriel in a six man tag match. However, Randy Orton, Sheamus and the Big Show came down and attacked The Shield until Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose eventually retreated. If Big Show, Orton and Sheamus stay on the same page the have a clear advantage over The Shield, so how will WWE even up the sides? Maybe one of the three superstars turns on his partners at "WrestleMania 29?"
Team Rhodes Scholars with the Bella Twins defeated Brodus Clay and Tensai in the night's next match. Earlier in the night AJ Lee overheard Kaitlyn trashtalking her to Team Hell No and attacked Kaitlyn in the locker room. As a result, AJ Lee defeated Kaitlyn via count out in a match. Looks like these two divas could be facing off at "WrestleMania 29."
The last and main segment of the night was a "Legends Q and A" between The Rock and John Cena. It was a fairly entertaining segment, but it just went on too long. It seems like it's a lot of the same back and forth between both superstars. Cena did come out and say he should have beaten Rock at last year's WrestleMania. Cena went on to say The Rock can't beat him, instead it was Cena who beat himself. The night ended with a bang when Rock called out Cena. As a result Cena walked up to The Rock and gave him the "You can't see me" hand. The Rock reversed the Attitude Adjustment and gave Cena a Rock Bottom to close the show.
What did you think of last night's "Monday Night Raw?" What grade would you give the show?
