Queens of the Stone Age News: New Album 'Like Clockwork Features Collaborations From Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Elton John, Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner and More [VIDEO]

Rock band Queens of the Stone Age likely didn't need to create any more excitement for their new album Like Clockwork, but news of artists like Arcitc Monkeys front man Alex Turner, Dave Grohl and Elton John working on the album definitely adds to it. The band just recently signed with Matador Records to release their latest album in June. The band's label released a list of collaborators who will be working with Queens of the Stone Age on their 2013 album.

Joining Tuner, Grohl and Sir Elton John as a guests on the Like Clockwork will be Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor and Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters. Former collaborators with the band, Mark Lanegan and Nick Oliveri, will also be working on the new album.

Queens of the Stone Age front man Josh Homme describes the album in the band's press release as "an audio documentary of a manic year." The band will also be going on a world tour to promote the new album, details involving the tour will be released soon. The band is looking for a new drummer for upcoming performances as well as for their 2013 tour. Joey Castillo and Jon Theodore recorded some drum parts for the album, but could fans hear Dave Grohl doing some drumming for Queens of the Stone Age while on tour? A guy can dream.

The band's last studio album was 2007's Era Vulgaris. They also released a mockumentary titled "Secrets of the Sound" in December of 2012. Watch the mockumentary below.
