'OITNB' Star Laverne Cox Patted Down At Texas Airport, Feels Unsafe!

The average airline passenger may not mind the Transportation Security Administration agents patting them down at a security check point but, for Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox; it was not a good experience. The star confessed a shocking revelation on Twitter, "Just cried during my TSA pat-down and watching folks go through every inch of my property," Her second tweet said. "It's deep how unsafe I felt so that we could all be 'safer.'"

The transgender actor apparently cried during the ordeal and says to fans that she wasn't prepared for what Austin Airport officials had in mind for her but that, "This too shall pass."

Yahoo news reported the the TSA has had problems in the past with the transgender passengers. As recent since October, the word, "anomaly" has been omitted to describe trangender passengers. Cox was visiting the city of Austin,Texas for an appearance at the Iron Bear with the Transgender Education Network of Texas.

On the Do15 website, he was billed as "first trans-woman to produce and star in her own television show, appear on the cover of TIME Magazine, and be nominated for an Emmy. She is also the first trans-woman of color to have a leading role on a mainstream scripted television show."

What should be exciting for Laverne is the new NAACP Image Award nomination that she has been bestowed upon her. Coz wrote, "It felt powerful to be at today's nominees luncheon celebrating diverse excellence in film, TV, music and literature."
