New 'Thor: Ragnarok' Details Reveals Mark Ruffalo's Hulk And Major Chris Hemsworth [SPOILERS]

There isn't much known about Thor: Ragnarok except the inevitable collaboration between Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner and Chris Hemsworth's Asgardian god. However, there are new details surfacing about the film's storyline that may actually confirm a long-standing rumor that the film will touch upon the comic book Planet Hulk!

In Greg Pak's comic book storyline, the Hulk is sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. into a new planet where he is supposed to live alone. However, his ship gets sucked into a wormhole and he ends up in the planet Sakaar, where an evil Emperor forces citizens into a gladiatorial fight to the death. There is a possibility that this is where the Hulk ended up in after flying away in a Quinjet in Avengers: Age of Ultron and will explain why Banner will not appear in Captain America: Civil War.

But how does the Hulk end up on a road trip with Thor in Ragnarok? That's when things get interesting. Geek.com reports that after the events in Age of Ultron, Thor returns to Asgard to discover that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has teamed up with Hela (Cate Blanchett). The two manage to defeat the God of Thunder when Hela destroys Mjolnir and banishes Thor to a certain gladiator-filled planet where a certain short-tempered green guy happens to be the best fighter. In addition to that, Thor will be humiliated by getting his signature blond locks shaved off before he is sent into an arena to fight.

Now that the freshly-shaven Thor and The Hulk are together, they probably need a reason to leave Sakaar (other than not wanting to keep brawling with random people, which actually seems like a good deal for the green guy). It is revealed that there is a weapon powerful enough to defeat Hela and Loki. So the two find a way to escape the planet and go on an adventure that will (hopefully) lead them back to Asgard in time to stop the Norse apocalypse.

But they'll probably need help, right? Along the way, Thor and The Hulk could end up in Midgard (translation: Earth), where they find that Odin (Anthony Hopkins) has also been banished. Unfortunately, his fate isn't as hopeful as that of his son's or the green guy's.

It would be awesome if Ragnarok features some of the Planet Hulk storyline, but it is still best to take all the information with a grain of salt.

Find out if the rumors are true when Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
