'Daredevil' Season 2: Elodie Yung Says Elektra Natchios is a "Sociopath"

There are less than two months left before the premiere of Marvel's Daredevil Season 2, and fans are understandably excited about the upcoming introduction of Elodie Yung as Matt Murdock's ex-girlfriend and fellow vigilante Elektra Natchios. The actress has just shared some new details about her character, who could be a little crazy and a "sociopath," and it's not just because of Charlie Cox's Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

According to ComicBook.com, Yung attended the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour, where she revealed that she had a heavy discussion with Daredevil showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez about how Elektra will be portrayed in the Netflix series.

"We think Elektra is, kind of, a sociopath, you know?" Yung said. "This world is a game for me - it's like a chess game - and what motivates her is what she wants. She will use anything she needs to use to get to her goal and if she needs to kill people, she would, you know? She has this coldness and this sociopath in her and I tried to keep that, really."

She  pointed out that Elektra is more than a one-dimensional character and won't be purely a villain this season. Yung continued to say that there is more to the character than meets the eye.

"We wanted to create a character with different layers and, I think, Elektra isn't a bad person, she's not a good person," Yung said. "She's a person with different traits, with layers and she's seeking for who she is, so really, in this season, there's an arc to her story and, hopefully, she will find out who she is really by the end of it."

The new season will also see the addition of The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher. These two new characters are expected to drastically change the way Murdock handles crime fighting within Hell's Kitchen.

Season 2 of Daredevil premieres March 18th on Netflix.
