Judge Judy's Son Adam Levy Interferes with Rape Case Investigation: DA Hires Child Rapist Alexandru Hossu as Live-In Personal Trainer
Several reports confirm that popular Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy (also the son of infamous TV Judge Judy Scheindlin ) is accused of trying to "influence and affect the investigation" of a child rape case involving his live-in personal trainer Alexandru Hossu and a 12-year-old girl. Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith and his supporters have criticized Levy for protecting Hossu, misleading the investigation, and providing the alleged child rapist (an illegal immigrant from Romania) with free housing at his million dollar luxury home in New York. According to Levy, all of these allegations are totally false.
According to Sheriff Smith, "In my view, Mr. Levy's comments and actions would seem to suggest that, if he could have his own way, Mr. Hossu would never have been brought to justice for his crime and Mr. Levy's relationship with him would have never been brought to the light of public scrutiny."
Last week, 35-year-old Hossu was charged with two counts of rape in the first degree after a 15-year-old came forward and told a school counselor that she had been sexually assaulted by the personal trainer when she was 12. Hossu is currently being accused of forcibly and violently sexually abusing the young girl twice in October of 2010.
After Hossu's charges went public, Levy was met with backlash for allegedly aiding and supporting the child rapist. The prestigious NY attorney maintains that he knew nothing about Hossu's immigration status and his inappropriate actions - he claims that an investigation will reveal that Hossu possessed a valid driver's license and Social Security number. Levy also insists that Hossu (his personal trainer) never actually lived at his suburban home, although that's the address printed on Hossu's driver's license.
Levy claims that he recused himself from the case as soon as he realized it involved Hossu, who his "family had known for years." The case is now being prosecuted by the district attorney of Westchester County.
Reality TV Judge Judy (who was sued over a set of fine China dishes earlier this month) recently said that Smith should be focused on the rape investigation and not on making accusations against her son.
Hossu is currently being held at the Putnam County jail in Carmel, NY on a $100,000 bond. He is due in court on April 2.
