'Thor' Director Taika Waititi Reveals Clever Title For 'What We Do In The Shadows' Sequel

Taika Waititi may currently be known as the director of the highly anticipated Marvel flick Thor: Ragnarok, but before he signed up for the project, the filmmaker was one of the creative minds behind the hilarious vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows. Waititi has just confirmed that a sequel is currently in the works, and has even revealed its awesome new title: We're Wolves.

Waititi recently spoke to Crave Online about his upcoming Sundance film entry Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and it was inevitable for the topic to turn to his critically acclaimed 2014 movie. The filmmaker gladly shared the good news about the What We Do in the Shadows sequel that he is working on with longtime collaborator Jemaine Clement.

"Jemaine and I are trying to write a werewolves spin-off," he said before revealing the film's working title.

"It's going to be called We're Wolves, like 'We are wolves.' We're Wolves," Waititi said.

The film will undoubtedly focus on the werewolves who were introduced in the original film, who completely stole the scene from the vampires during their hilarious confrontation that coined the catchphrase, "Werewolves, not swearwolves."

It would also make sense for Anton and his clan to take center stage, since they have (accidentally) turned the vampires' favorite human into a werewolf like them.

Although We're Wolves is far from being complete and there has been no casting news yet, there is a great possibility that Rhys Darby could reprise his role as the werewolves' leader Anton. Stu Rutherford, who played Stu the computer programmer turned werewolf, will hopefully return in the film as well.

There is no word yet on when We're Wolves will be released but it may take more time before Waititi can get his plate cleared for the film. The director confirmed that he will work on the sequel after Thor: Ragnarok.
