'The Walking Dead' Season 6 SPOILERS: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Talks Playing Negan
There is less than a month left before the sixth season of The Walking Dead finally returns to AMC and finally brings with it the flesh-and-blood incarnation of the comic book villain Negan. The Good Wife star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is aware of the hype surrounding his character, and knows that he is lucky for nabbing the coveted role!
Morgan was recently a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he admitted that the character is completely different from Jason Crouse, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
"[Negan]'s a game changer," Morgan said. "It's a complete 180 from what I'm doing on The Good Wife, which -- as an actor -- is a dream come true."
What's so great about playing the most feared villain in the TWD universe?
"I get to be the biggest a** in the world," Morgan declared.
Being Negan may be a big deal for the Batman v Superman star (he will play Thomas Wayne in a flashback scene), but his mother didn't agree with him at first. But only because she was worried about his other TV series.
"When I took the show, [my mother] was like, 'What does this mean with The Good Wife?" Morgan shared. "She was devastated that it could be the end. I was like, 'Mom, keep your pants on. We'll see what happens.'"
Morgan's mother has a good reason for her concern: There have been speculations that Jason will not be returning to The Good Wife after he walked away from Alicia in the episode KRS. Although Morgan was recently made series regular, fans still can't help but worry that the character might not come back to the show.
The second half of The Walking Dead Season 6 will air on AMC on February 14 while the 13th episode of The Good Wife Season 7 will air on January 31.
