'Pretty Little Liars' Spoilers: New Character in Season 4 Premiere 'Cat's Cradle', ABC Family Picks Up Show for Season 5, Network Announces Spinoff Called 'Ravenswood'

ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars" has been a huge success for the network, so it didn't come as a surprise to fans to hear that the show was picked up for a fifth season. What may have surprised some is that the network is planning to start a spin off of the hit show. ABC Family's new show will be called "Ravenswood," which will air behind "Pretty Little Liars" in October.

"Ravenswood" will include the same creative team as "Pretty Little Liars" and will also surround an unsolved mystery. The show is said to involve a deadly curse in town. Executive Producer of "Pretty Little Liars" Marlene King tweeted, "We can't tell you who's in it yet. Like Rosewood, Ravenswood has dark secrets. #Ravenswood."  These announcements were made on Tuesday, making for an exciting day for fans. They also found out that season four of "Pretty Little Liars" will start in June.

"Pretty Little Liars" has been a huge success for ABC Family, routinely ranking number one in the ratings during its time slot for young women. The show also is very popular in social media. You can often find it trending on Twitter.

With all this news about "Ravenswood" and a fifth season of "Pretty Little Liars" we almost forgot about the shows fourth season! The shows next season is scheduled to premiere June 11 and there are some major cliffhangers from season three. In E! Online's "Spoiler Chat" it was revealed that a new character will be debuting in the season four premiere "Cat's Cradle." The "Tim Burton-ish" character is named Hector Lime and he is a sculptor who makes props and masks for horror movies.

Fans are sure to be pumped for this summer with a brand new season of "Pretty Little Liars" just months after the season three finale. Then in the Fall, fans can look forward to a fifth season along with the new spin off.
