Coming off the success of "The Amazing Spider-Man" starring Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, Marvel Studios is sure to have another blockbuster on their hands with the May 2, 2014 release of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." As is the case with most comic book movies the rumors come in fast and furious. The latest news surrounding the Marc Webb directed film involves the bevy of villains expected to appear in the film. It's important to remember that with these superhero movies, the villains are as important to its success as the heroes. Which is probably why the studio got some big time actors to play the villains.

The bad guys rumored to appear in "The Amazing Spider Man 2" are Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn aka The Green Goblin, and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn aka The Green Goblin 2. It's important to remember "The Amazing Spider Man" franchise is a completely different film than the previous Tobey Maguire/Kirsten Dunst "Spider Man" days.

As for the new details surrounding the Spidey villains, Comicbookmovie.com is reporting that Electro will not be wearing his classic green and yellow costume, but closer to the "Ultimate version" of the character. The report also says that Electro aka Max Dillon will be an Oscorp employee, which is also where he has his accident.

Comicbookmovie.com also reveals to fans that the Green Goblin will not appear in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," but there will be plenty of teasers at his appearance in the next movie. Quite possibly the biggest spoiler presented from the website is the possibility (nothing confirmed yet) that Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy character could be killed off at the beginning of the film. This would come as a shock as most deaths of main characters occur at the end of movies, but this is an interesting twist if it turns out to be true. If Stone's character is killed off rather early, she isn't giving off any hints. She recently discussed her real life romance with Andrew Garfield and mentioned how great shooting "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has been going. "It's wild to be back in character as Gwen Stacy. I love her and the script is just wonderful," Stone told Femalefirst.co.uk. The 24-year-old actress has gotten to spend time with Garfield as they shoot the sequel.

Other recent rumors and news surrounding "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is word, via Comicbookmovie.com, that the redesigned Spidey suit used in the first film will not be returning for the second film. There is no word yet on what the Spider Man suit will look like for the second film, but hopefully we will get some shots of the superhero costume soon.

Also just recently posted on Twitter by director Mar Webb was a photo of "The Office" actor B.J. Novak on set. Webb tweeted along with the picture, "Day 38. A supposed rumor about a Dunder-Mifflin takeover of Oscorp? @bjnovak" There is no word on what role Novak is playing, but check out the picture below for youreslf and take a guess.
