'Thor: Ragnarok' Spoilers: Director Taika Waititi Teases Tom Hiddleston's Loki Return?
One of the most exciting aspects of the Marvel sequel Thor: Ragnarok is the return of Tom Hiddleston as fan favorite Loki. The villain was already missed by fans when his only scene was deleted from Avengers: Age of Ultron, so everyone is looking forward to see Hiddleston take on Chris Hemsworth's Thor in the new film. But what exactly will Loki be up to in Ragnarok?
Taika Waititi recently spoke to WIRED, where he was asked what Loki will be doing in Ragnarok. The director didn't have much to say, but he did hint on the possibility that the villain is once again getting ready for plenty of mischief.
"At the moment, everyone's trying to figure it out, like, 'What's [Loki] going to do?'" Waititi said, adding that it is a question almost every Thor fan has been wondering about. "Everyone loves that character," he said.
However, the What We Do in the Shadows director chose to remain quiet about what could happen to Loki in Ragnarok, leaving fans to continue with their speculations about the role Thor's adopted brother will play in the film. In the meantime, here's Loki's dream sequence that was deleted from Thor: The Dark World.
We have already reported that Ragnarok could find Thor defeated by Loki with the help of Hela, Goddess of the Dead. Hela actually destroys the hammer Mjolnir before she banishes Thor into a gladiatorial planet where he eventually finds The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).
Speaking of Hela, Waititi was also asked whether Cate Blanchett will portray the Marvel villainess in Ragnarok. The director offered a non-committal response.
"Yeah, the rumor... Here's the thing... I can't say anything," he said before adding, "I've probably said way too much."
Thor: Ragnarok will also star Blindspot actress Jaimie Alexander, who will reprise her role as the fierce Lady Sif. The film is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017.
