After Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dilwale' Kriti Sanon Romances Superstar Salman Khan In 'Bodyguard 2?'

Bollywood new sensational beauty Kriti Sanon got her nig break long back but it was Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale that introduced her to million new fans. Now, after acting in Dilwale, there are reports that Kriti will share the screen with superstar Salman Khan in Bodyguard 2.

Salman is currently working in Aditya Chopra's upcoming film Sultan with Anushka Sharma. Ever since he has seen Kriti's acting in Dilwale, he got mesmerised by her acting. According to a report from a daily, Salman got really impressed by her acting and even suggested her name to Atul Agnihotri, the producer of Bodyguard for the lead in the upcoming sequel to superhit film.

"While Kriti is not yet finalised (for the role), she is definitely one of the strongest contenders for the female lead of Bodyguard's sequel," an insider informed the daily.

In 2011, Indian filmmaker Siddiqui directed Bodyguard that featured Salman and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. The film also starred Raj Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Hazel Keech in the pivotal roles. Upon its release, the film broke many records. According to DNA India, the film earned around $3 million dollars and became the biggest grosser ever for a single day until 2011.

After the success of Bodyguard, both Salman and the producers wanted to make a sequel out of it. But in 2015, Atul said that the story of Bodyguard ended in such a way that there won't be a possible sequel out of it, so the writers and the production team will work on a different story with the same base. The producer was quoted by DNA as:

"The film (Bodyguard) does not have a leeway to be continuous, and 'Bodyguard' ended on a note that left no room for continuity. So, there will be a new story, and we do have some ideas now."
