'X-Men: Apocalypse' Star Olivia Munn Wants Psylocke Solo Movie, Shares New Movie PHOTO
It may still be a few more months before the premiere of X-Men: Apocalypse, but Olivia Munn is already considering a solo movie for her character, the telepathic mutant Psylocke. The Magic Mike actress has just confirmed that she would love to star in Betsy Braddock's own X-Men spin-off film!
Munn recently spoke to Collider, where she pitched her own ideas for Psylocke's standalone movie.
"I think if Psylocke had a chance to tell her story, it would be great to start with the genesis and have an understanding," Munn said before sharing how the mutant's origin story will be covered in the film.
"I think maybe like right as she's getting out of university and before her whole family -- we jump in right before all of her family is taken out and we have an understanding of what she had to lose, then her figuring out her powers and how powerful she is," she said.
Munn also admitted that she was interested in this particular part of Psylocke's story because it was something she was personally drawn to.
"I think that would be a great thing to, because it's something that I always loved about her, that she came from a good family and lost everything," she shared. "Yeah, I would just like to tell that story."
Munn's plans for Psylocke's solo movie may be about Betsy discovering her powers, but Apocalypse will show the mutant in control of her full potential. Munn recently answered fan questions on Twitter, where @SuperheroFeed asked if her character will show off her psychic weaponry in the film. The actress responded with a new photo from the movie.
X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer and also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and Evan Peters. The film will premiere on May 27.
