Fans already know that the second half of The Walking Dead Season 6 will be exciting, as characters like Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Gregory (Xander Berkeley) and Paul "Jesus" Monroe (Tom Payne) will finally be introduced to the show. Now Andrew Lincoln wants you to know that a new chapter is about to start and he's excited for Rick Grimes and the rest of Alexandria!

"We do realize very quickly in the returning episode that it's almost like the end of a chapter," Lincoln told Entertainment Weekly. "Something happens. Rick learns a lot about himself in this episode."

We have previously reported on "something" that could happen to Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) when the show returns. In addition to that, Lincoln reveals that the story will definitely move faster in the second half of Season 6.

"What I will say is that the pace quickens a lot in the back eight," he said. "It jumps up a gear, maybe two gears, and we move very, very quickly. A lot of things happen in quick succession that propel us towards a very thrilling finale."

Lincoln also admitted that he enjoyed working on the latter part of the season, stating that his favorite episodes will soon be aired.

"I will say that five of my favorite episodes in a long time - and very different episodes - are in this back eight," he said. "I loved shooting this back eight, from the moment we started with episode 9, which felt like a season premiere. The scale of it is astonishing."

But what can we expect when TWD returns to AMC?

"I'm more excited than I've been for a long, long time," Lincoln admitted. "We've been spending so much time looking inward and looking inside the walls, certainly in the Alexandria chapter. Now, we're looking to the horizon."

Lincoln also teased on the future for Rick and his group and what they will encounter.

"In one direction you see good, and in the other direction, you see very, very bad. But the world is suddenly growing. And as a result, the show grows again," he said. "And as a result, the family and Rick as a leader has to develop and adapt to this new world order."

The mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead Season 6 will air on AMC on February 14.
