‘Thor: Ragnarok’ SPOILERS: Will Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo Feel Marvel Character Death?
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to unveil and spoil us with a lot of their comics turned major movies - not to mention their sequels, trilogies and installments - there's an undeniable reality that fans dread: characters' deaths for that matter. As story lines develop, plot progresses, there will be needed changes in the film for it to grow and blossom into something more. Sometimes, a death of someone is the catalyst for it. And looks like Thor: Ragnarok will not be an exemption.
Rumors are spreading about the possible death of a fan favorite character in Thor. There will be some potential spoilers. You've been warned.
According to Latino Review, Hela (Cate Blanchett), a goddess and ruler of the spirits of the dead, will plan to take over not only Asgard but also the whole universe. And with her agenda, of course, the god of thunder, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will try to stop her resulting to his hammer's destruction and Heimdall's (Idris Elba) death.
LR further reveal that fans might not be happy about the keeper of the rainbow bridge's death as his murder might be in the earlier part of the movie. But don't worry pals. We'll see more of Heimdall at the final battlefield. He'll be fighting as one of the souls of the righteous who had fallen. Looks like there will be some resurrections in this final solo movie for Thor.
If this is really going to happen, this will be an upsetting news for the fans of Elba, playing the role of Heimdall. But in contrast to the fans' possible feelings, Elba must be feeling glad since he shared with The Telegraph his dislike for the activity of being Heimdall.
"And in the actual scene my hair was different, my... [Sigh] I was like, 'This is torture, man. I don't want to do this.' My agent said: 'You have to, it's part of the deal.'
I'm actually falling down from a spaceship, so they had to put me in harness in this green-screen studio. And in between takes I was stuck there, fake hair stuck on to my head with glue, this fucking helmet, while they reset. And I'm thinking: '24 hours ago, I was Mandela.' ... Then there I was, in this stupid harness, with this wig and this sword and these contact lenses. It ripped my heart out."
Now, his death can only mean lesser time for him wearing his costume which he, well, hates. He must have been relieved.
Captain America: Civil War might also lose additional characters after news of it came out prior to Heimdall's rumored death. Marvel's Phase 3 will be dark with a lot of characters dying and all. Would we lose a character too in Avengers: Infinity War? What can you say about all these future deaths?
Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit theaters on November 2017.
