The CW Network continues with Season One of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. In episode 4, Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) join White Canary (Caity Lotz) as they take the fight to Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) in White Knights.

Gideon discovers Vandal Savage has retreated behind the Iron Curtain in the early 1980s. Knowing there are numerous scientists missing, the group follows Savage straight into the Soviet Union. As  the Atom (Brandon Routh) and Captain Cold vie for the attention of a Soviet scientist, Valentina Vostock (Stephanie Corneliussen), the group finds themselves nearly getting their butt handed to them, with Firestorm (Franz Drameh) getting the worst of the injuries.

Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) wants Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and White Canary to train together. Unfortunately, Hawkgirl discovers the hard way about Canary's bloodlust. Despite thinking she's a psychopath, Hunter wants Hawkgirl to give Canary another chance. This time around, Hawkgirl doesn't back down and holds her own as she holds her own against Canary.

Back on the ship, the Atom and Captain Cold aren't really too happy with each other. Stein can't stop himself from yelling at Firestom, who's weakened from the fight.  The two let it all out if front of everyone.

Stein and Firestorm really get into a heated argument. Firestorm has a mother back home, a widow. What happens to his mother if Firestorm dies in action. Knowing he lost Ronnie before, Stein doesn't want to lose Jax as well and tell his mother that her son is dead. He doesn't want that on his conscience.

After his argument with Firestorm, Stein risks his life, sneaking into the power plant. Going through a lineup of dead bodies and flipping through photos, Stein realizes that someone is planning on creating the "Soviet Firestorm."

As Martin Stein absorbs the  power of the thermal core, Captain Cold finds himself compromised by Valentina Vostok. It turns out Valentina Vostok has been working withVandal all along. With a gun pointed at Captain Cold's head, Valentina Vostok convinces the Atom to let himself get captured.

Heat Wave shows up shooting but manages to get himself shot. Though he absorbed everything of the thermal core, Stein finds himself surrounded by men with guns. Captain Cold races through explosions and gunfire to get the thermal core back to the Waverider. Heat Wave, the Atom, and Stein are all Valentina Vostok's prisoners.

Captain Cold points his freeze ray at Hunter, wondering what happened to his backup. With the thermal core now in their hands, Hunter believes they have bought the team enough time for a rescue.

Hawkgirl and White Canary are furious at Hunter, for not calling them in for backup. Firestorm knows Professor Stein will hold up against torture, but not for very long. Hunter realizes Stein and the other captives are trapped in an impenetrable prison.

Stein finds himself alone in his prison cell, draped in darkness.
