‘Avatar’ Stephen Lang Expresses His Wish To Be Cast In Ryan Reynolds ‘Deadpool 2’ As Cable
With the Deadpool movie's popularity spreading out like wildfire, it's no doubt anyone would want to be a part of it. Luckily, Deadpool will have a sequel and looks like someone has already expressed his desire to join the gang. Actor Stephen Lang (Avatar) has posted on his Twitter his wish to be cast as the character Cable. Cable will be the addition to the sequel as Deadpool himself announced the mutant's involvement in the sequel on the movie's post-credits.
It seems like the 63-year old actor really wants the role. From the looks of his and the movie's fans' responses, they are already liking it.
Cable is actually not that popular with the media, however, if you're an X-Men fan, you probably know who he is. Cable is a psychically gifted, ultimate soldier type from the future while Stephen Lang is best known for his bad*** character Colonel Miles Quaritch in James Cameron's Avatar. So playing soldier wouldn't be Lang's first time if he'd get the part. And he does have some resemblance with Cable, so he would likely fit the physical aspect of the character, right? Need I say more?
The only question though is if age wouldn't pose a problem for Lang in landing the role. Don't get me wrong. He looks really fit, but, since Deadpool 2 will not hit theaters any sooner, FOX probably would want someone a little bit younger. There is a very big possibility that Deadpool would become a big movie franchise if people would still continue supporting it.
FOX has not responded to this yet. But we'll keep you posted once we have more details for this one.
