Ryan Reynolds 'Deadpool' Will Have No Director's Cut According To Filmmaker Tim Miller
As Deadpool hits the big screen with flattering and approving remarks, the audiences are now much eager for the movie's DVD release as everyone expects for more exciting director's cut in it. But contrary to the tip-offs of lead actor T.J Miller during his interviews, the film director Tim Miller during his Q&A in Collider's IMAX special screening says otherwise.
Miller explained, "I don't wanna be all Joss Whedon on you, but no there's not (a director's cut)... There are some deleted scenes that have some extra stuff, but I'm pretty happy with this cut. I like it."
It would also be quite improbable for a superhero film to be more vicious. Deadpool, with its R-rating, is already packed with enough sex, action and bloodbath. Personally, a director's cut may be a little bit overboard. The movie itself provides sufficient scenes that captivates the audiences' interest. A director's cut may or may not cause a little chatter among the viewers.
Furthermore, Miller also adds producer Simon Kinberg's request to trim some obscene scenes in Deadpool. "I had a little more workshop fight in there that I liked -- that's the beat that we were talking about. [Simon's] like, 'Tim it's violent enough, please' and I'm like, 'Oh no but man when he stomps on his face it's awesome,' and Simon's like, 'No we've got enough.' (laughs)"
I wonder how Deadpool would look like without all those trims that they'd made. But I have watched the movie myself so I think that what they did was for the best. We don't want people saying it was over-the-top, do we?
Most importantly, fans and movie-goers shouldn't be sorry or disappointed when the movie is finally released on Blu-Ray. We could still expect a little giveaway later this year. Rumor says that some, although not all, alternate takes are highly possible to appear.
The movie is also still showing in cinemas nationwide, so if you want to take some time off from work or relax with a thrilling post-Valentine celebration. This Deadpool might just be for you.
