The Marvel flick Doctor Strange may be nearing its completion, but the film is still shrouded in mystery. Luckily, Chiwetel Ejiofor recently spoke up about his character Baron Mordo, who may or may not be the villain opposite Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange! The 12 Years a Slave star also discussed the growing diversity in future Marvel movies.

Ejiofor spoke to HeyUGuys about Mordo, who he admits is an interesting character to embody.

"I think he's a fascinating character. Even in sort of the original framework of that character, I think he's very fascinating and sort of fleshing that out and giving it a real three-dimensional quality has been really exciting," Ejiofor said before adding that he felt that Doctor Strange will stand out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's lineup of films.

"I think that even within the kind of scope, technical and visual scale of the Marvel Universe, I think this is really something unique as well," he said. "I'm excited for people to see it."

In addition to that, Ejiofor also spoke up about how superhero films are slowly showing more diversity. The Academy Award winner brought up the highly anticipated Black Panther, which will star Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa and will be directed by Creed helmer Ryan Coogler.

"I think certainly that Marvel is introducing a lot of different characters, and diversity in characters and I think getting Black Panther up and running is really great and really exciting," he said, adding that he is hoping to see similar Marvel films in the future.

"The more that can happen and we get as an audience to experience different stories and different people, I think it's very rich, it's a very rich world," he concluded.

Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson and also stars Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg and Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen. The film is scheduled for release on November 4.
