Finally, after weeks of rumors and hints towards a major 2013 North American tour, the Rolling Stones have announced their 2013 tour plans. The legendary rock band has been on everyone's minds since their 50th anniversary concerts in New York, New Jersey, and London late in 2012. The band announced today (Wednesday April 3) on their YouTube page (video below) their "50 and Counting" North American tour dates starting in early May at the Staples Center in Los Angeles along with stops in Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia.
The Rolling Stones will begin the tour on the West Coast in LA in early May. According to Billboard, an exact date has not been announced yet, due to the possibility of the NHL playoffs being played during that time. The band will then head to Oakland on May 5, followed by stops in San Jose, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Toronto, Chicago and finishing up on the East Coast in Boston and Philadelphia. The nine tour stops are listed below.
After their North American tour "50 and Counting" wraps up June 18, they will head to the U.K. for the Glastonbury Festival on June 29 and Hyde Park on July 6. You can watch the YouTube video below with the announcement. The video features all four members of the band (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts) talking about how they all knew they needed to go back on tour.
Even though the announcement wasn't a big surprise, it's nice for Stones fans to finally get the confirmation that the legendary rock band is going back on tour this summer.
