Just when the diva, Kareena Kapoor Khan tied the knot with the tenth Nawab of Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan in 2012, she made it very clear to her filmmakers that she will not do films that will have scenes, which involve her kissing onscreen with her co-stars and because of this self-imposed rule, many filmmakers had to face the burn. However, with the upcoming Ki & Ka, Khan finally broke her rule.

R Balki's most awaited film, Ki & Ka's first trailer just got released and audiences get to see Khan's locking lips with her co-star Arjun Kapoor on several occasions. Not that they are turned off by it, but Khan has given reasons enough for them to talk.

Khan had forced filmmakers to drop scenes from movies with kissing or lovemaking scenes, which she was uncomfortable doing being the Begum of Pataudi. According to Bollywood Hungama, director Prakash Jha had to trim down an intimate scene from Satyagraha, featuring her and Ajay Devgn, when the former had imposed a no-kissing rule.

When director Balki heard that media is talking about Khan's kissing Kapoor's character in the film. He said that there is nothing exceptional about it as the duo is playing the role of an urban Delhi-based married couple and depicting a kissing scene is a normal thing. The director was further quoted by The Asian Age as:

"Kareena and Arjun play husband and wife in my film. So what do husbands and wives do? They show affection with a kiss, right? How else should Kareena and Arjun behave while playing man and wife?"

Balki, who earlier made films like the heartwarming Paa and the serious Shamitabh, both featuring megastar Amitabh Bachchan, also said in the report that most films made on marriages are dark. He wanted to make a sunny and light-hearted movie depicting a happily-married couple from Delhi.

"Most films about marriage are dark and unhappy. I wanted to make a happy, sunny film on marriage. Arjun and Kareena are the ideal spouses," Balki further added.

He also mentioned that while filming his movie, Khan did not ask for any special concessions or have hung ups regarding kissing, as she was comfortable playing a wife, who in the normal course of routine, kisses her onscreen husband Kapoor.

The rom-com Ki & Ka is slated to release on April 1, 2016.
