The Flash Season 2 SPOILERS: Twitter Reacts Grant Gustin/Barry Allen, Tony Todd/Zoom Identity

The CW network continues with Season 2 of The Flash. After Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) made his escape from Earth-2, nothing could have prepared him as Twitter had lots to say about super villain Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd)'s identity finally being revealed!

In our previous recap, while Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) had his rematch with Geomancer, Earth-2 Barry joined Cisco (Carlos Valdes) has they searched for Killer Frost, who knew Zoom's hideout. As Killer Frost kept Zoom on ice, the scarlet speedster made his escape, but had to leave the man in the iron mask behind. Though The Flash rescued Wells and his daughter, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) screamed as Zoom drove his fist through Jay's chest and sucked him back to Earth-2 before the portal closed.

In our recent recap, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) reveled that the breaches have been close, there's no going back. While the team dealt with Jay's loss and their defeat, Diggle (David Ramsey) arrived in Central City to stop King Shark. As Barry promised to return to Earth-2 to avenge Jay's death, Zoom dropped Garrick's dead boy in front of the Man in the Iron Mask, and unmasked himself, revealing himself as Jay Garrick.

In an interview with Variety, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explains the twist, "For us, it could only happen because of what happened last season. For Barry and the others, as much as they were stung by Wells/Thawne's betrayal, he had been their mentor and friend and they all felt that vacuum when he was gone. Jay had been watching them and knew that so he was able to masterfully step into the role each of them needed. He became a friend and mentor to Barry. A love interest to the heartbroken Caitlin. He skillfully played them all."
