Oscar Menu 2016: Wolfgang Puck Shows what Nominees Will Eat at Governors Ball

The most important names in Hollywood are currently fighting with their personal assistants so they'll find the perfect outfits and nab the greatest gift bags next Sunday, as Oscar night 2016 approaches. While that happens, one of the biggest chefs in Los Angeles, Spago creator Wolfgang Puck, is prepping up the menu for the Governors' Ball, the after-party hosted by the Academy!

Seeing as Puck is one of the most recognized chefs in the world, it's important to remember that, while delicious, everything he cooks is quite on the expensive side and more so when he's catering for the biggest night in Hollywood's film industry. In other words, be warned: reading this might make you feel pretty poor in the most literal sense.

According to Forbes, Puck unveiled the menu for this year's Governors' Ball Feb. 18, and there are at least seven major categories in what these people are eating after the show.

The feast includes: seven different passed hors d'oeuvres including shrimp cocktail; a poke, sushi & shellfish bar; a chocolate buffet with delicious-sounding things going from coconut macaroons to a strawberry white chocolate puffed rice rocher (plus vegan and gluten-free options to cater to Hollywood's fussy diets); cold plates like almond gazpacho and cocktail bites like pretzels made from scratch.

After 21 years catering for the Oscars and three decades of running Spago in Los Angeles, Puck knows his Hollywood crowd. In a recent interview with The New York Post, the iconic Beverly Hills chef shared what are some of the stars' favorite dishes. For example, it turns out that Leonardo DiCaprio likes to try everything in the menu when he visits his restaurant, and DiCaprio's The Revenant director Alejandro González Iñárritu is getting a special dish on Oscar night.

"We have to make a fish Veracruz, so he feels like he's at home," Puck told the outlet. "It's sauteed onions, bell peppers, and then a little touch of garlic, and some tomato sauce, some jalapeño, obviously. Then some capers and olives. I put in some oregano, and we cook the fish on top of the sauce like that."

With dozens of dishes and desserts available in the feast, it seems unlikely that any of the stars walks out hungry -- but then again, Oscar guests do come out of a four-hour ceremony, so it's no surprise they're starving when it ends!
