Skylar Smith Harris Takes First Steps While Her Dad Mendeecees Serves Prison Sentence

Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Harris' daughter, Skylar Smith Harris, recently hit a major milestone. The toddler took her first steps! Sadly, her dad, Mendeecees Harris, missed the magical milestone because he's serving out an eight year prison sentence for drug trafficking. In the video clip below, little Skylar finally started walking on her own. The moment was bittersweet because her father wasn't there to witness it. He may have gotten to catch the steps on camera, but it has to hurt that he couldn't be there to see them in person and cheer his daughter on due to his own (past) bad choices.

Harris is currently serving out his eight year prison sentence after he was found guilty of drug trafficking charges. In Monday night's episode of Love and Hip Hop, Harris will express his sadness and concern about the future of his children while sitting down with his wife and the rest of his baby mamas. The moment that was supposed to be very serious and all about the small children becomes drama and chaotic.

Skylar is Mendeecees Harris' only daughter. He also shares one son, Omere, with his wife, Yandy. He also has two other sons named Aasim (by Erika) and Lil Mendeecess (by Samantha).

As Harris faces some tough times behind bars not being able to see his children, we hope the ladies in his life will continue to work with him and allow his kids to come visit him and continue to build their bond with their father.
