'American Idol' Recap: Burnell Taylor Eliminated, Season 12, Top 7, Results Show, Lazaro Arbos Comes in Top Three, Carrie Underwood Performs [VIDEO]
After last night's episode of "American Idol," season 12 is now down to the top six singers. Would one of the final two remaining male contestants, Burnell Taylor and Lazaro Arbos, be sent home? Will there be a shocking elimination Thursday night where one of the female singers are sent home? "Idol" judge Nicki Minaj has been outspoken in her criticism of Lazaro and he has forgotten the lyrics to songs twice this season, so he seems like the obvious person to be voted off by fans, but you never know. Also, last night judges Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, and Minaj were all asked to reveal their top three contestants up until this point.
Continuing with rock week on "American Idol" the top seven contestants sang Queen's "Somebody to Love." The group performance was not very good and did none of the singers any favors. Casey James came out to sing his own song, "The Good Life."
The judges were asked to submit who they thought should be the top three vote getters. Urban, Minaj, and Jackson all chose Kree Harrison, Angie Miller, and Amber Holcomb as their top three. Carey replaced Angie with Candice Glover.
Ryan Seacrest then revealed the top three vote getters to be Kree Harrison, Angie Miller, and Lazaro Arbos. Yes, you heard that correctly, Lazaro is in the top three. Despite forgetting the lyrics on multiple songs and clearly being one of the weaker singers left, Lazaro's strong fan base came through for him. Is Lazaro the next Sanjaya?
Carrie Underwood came out on stage next to perform her single "See You Again." The final voting results came in and the bottom two are Burnell Taylor and Janelle Arthur. The loser is revealed to be Burnell who then has to sing to try and convince the judges to keep him in the competitions. Taylor sings India Arie's "Ready for Love," but the judges decide to not save him. Burnell is eliminated from season 12 of "American Idol."
