Rohit Roy Follows Brother Ronit, Joins the Cast of Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaabil' [WATCH]
If there is one thing both Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy are waiting for eagerly, it is to get beaten to pulp by none other than Hrithik Roshan himself! The news is making the rounds these days that both the brothers have now been signed on to play antagonists in Sanjay Gupta's upcoming film, Kaabil.
The Roy brothers, who made for a mark for themselves on the small screen by appearing in super-hit TV shows, have now been roped in to play the bad guys in the Roshan-starrer movie. Yami Gautam plays the leading lady opposite Roshan in the film, which is being produced by FilmKrafts.
While the elder brother is best remembered for his small screen role of Rishabh Bajaj in Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay; the younger one is better known to have brought to life Rishabh Malhotra's character in the 1995 Mahesh Bhatt-directed teleserials, Swabhimaan. The duo then got to share screen space on television's political drama, Sarrkar, where their roles were said to be loosely based on Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi.
A source close to the production revealed to Mid-Day that there have been many projects in which these two brothers acted together, but this would be the first time when they will be seen playing the roles of antagonist in the same feature.
"Both Rohit and Ronit playing negative roles in the same film will be a first. While Ronit has played characters with grey streaks earlier (most recent being in films like Guddu Rangeela and Boss), it will be a complete transformation for Rohit since he will have to shed his good-guy image," added the source.
It was earlier reported by MStars News that the plot of Kaabil is a straight lift-off of the Somy Ali-Salman Khan starrer, Buland, which could never see the light of day. In the shelved film, Ali's visually impaired character gets killed and Khan then goes on to avenge her death.
Kaabil, too, has Gautam playing a blind girl who gets killed by the bad guys, most likely the Roy brothers, who are then brought to the book by Roshan, who plays Gautam's love interest in the movie. It is yet to be seen what and how the plot of the upcoming romantic thriller later shapes up.
