Jeremy Irons Gay Remarks Mocked by Stephen Colbert [VIDEOS]: Actor 'Worried' Same-Sex Marriage May Lead to 'Incest,' Other 'Unorthodox' Family Practices

In an exclusive interview earlier this week with The Huffington Post, popular actor Jeremy Irons commented on the hotly-debated topic concerning gay marriage. The Academy Award winner claims that he "doesn't have strong feelings" in either direction of the same-sex marriage debate, but did manage to bring up the topic of incest somehow... According to Irons, such radical changes could lead to further breakdown of orthodox family structure and ideals, and he insists "[if] we change what marriage is...I just worry about that." Of course, popular political satirist Stephen Colbert had to offer up his amusing mock rendition of Irons' words. Check out the videos below!

Here's Irons thoughtful, but rather bizarre take on the same-sex marriage debate:

Irons meant no harm, and at the end of the clip insists that he "[doesn't] have a strong feeling either way" and that he "[wishes] everybody who's living with one other person the best of luck in the world, because it's fantastic." He concludes with, "Living with another animal, whether it be a husband or a dog, is great," he said. "It's lovely to have someone to love. I don't think sex matters at all. What it's called doesn't matter at all."

And in response, Comedy Central front-man Stephen Colbert offered up these amusing and interesting remarks:

Colbert mockingly defends Irons' view that "living with another animal, whether it be a husband or a dog, is great," by explaining - "See? He's cool with whatever. A sexless marriage with a wife, a sex-filled marriage with a dog."

How insightful!
