'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Spoilers: Ross Marquand Shocks People At Airport Covered in Blood
It's easy to understand how the actors on The Walking Dead would be comfortable being covered in fake blood and dirt, especially since they spend most of their time in makeup. However, Ross Marquand, who plays Aaron on the show, actually had to go to the airport without removing the blood!
Marquand was recently a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he did amazing celebrity impersonations. But before that, he shared a lengthy story about his bloody airport encounter.
"We actually were doing the midseason premiere over my birthday over the summer and I actually had my buddy's wedding to attend," Marquand told Kimmel, adding that he barely noticed the time because of the extensive filming.
"We were shooting all night long for two nights in a row and right around 7 in the morning I look at the clock and I said, 'Oh my god, I have an 8:15 flight!'" he said, sharing that the scene had him completely covered in fake blood.
"I'm still just drenched in this stuff and I don't know if I'm gonna make the flight," Marquand said, although luckily, they had an understanding director for the episode.
"On the last take, our director looked at us, Greg Nicotero, and he said, 'Go!' So, I ran to the van, tore off my clothes as fast as I could and drove to the airport just as fast as I could," he shared, adding that he did not have a problem with customs.
"I get through TSA surprisingly easy which I found a little disturbing," Marquand shared, although he did encounter a bump on the way to the gate.
"When I got to the gate they were shutting the gate. I said, 'No, no, no, no! If you close the gate I'm gonna miss my buddy's wedding!'" he continued, adding that the problem probably had a lot to do with all the fake blood on him. "So I'm like, 'It's okay, it's not my blood!'" he said, finally concluding that he finally got through when a supervisor was called in to verify his identity and allowed him through after a quick selfie.
The Walking Dead Season 6 will air on AMC every Sunday nights.
