With all the news surrounding the Rolling Stones and their 2013 North American tour, as well as their stops at the Glastonbury Festival and Hyde Park this summer, you would think Mick Jagger and Keith Richards would getting most of the attention. However, Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has been making some headlines recently over comments he made in an interview. First, Watts said he didn't want to play the Glastonbury Festival and he also said he wanted to quit the Stones before their famous 50th Anniversary shows at the end of last year.

In an interview with The Guardian, Watts revealed he doesn't like playing festivals and he doesn't like playing outdoors. This really makes the Glastonbury Festival a bad combination for Watts. When asked if he was excited to play the Glastonbury Festival in 2013, the legendary drummer said, "I don't want to do it. Everyone else does. I don't like playing outdoors, and I certainly don't like festivals. I've always thought they're nothing to do with playing."

In that same interview with The Guardian, Watts also revealed that he had considered quitting the legendary rock band before they played their 50th Anniversary shows in late 2012. When asked if he had ever thought about "knocking it on the head" Watts replied, "I thought that before the O2, but it was actually very comfortable to do. It was good fun, is what I meant to say." Luckily Watts did decide to play, because the band's handful of shows for their 50th Anniversary brought in huge numbers and eventually led to their recently announced 2013 North American tour.

The Rolling Stones "50 and Counting" 2013 tour will begin in Los Angeles in early May and conclude in Philadelphia June 18. They also will be making stops at the Glastonbury Festival in England June 29 and Hyde Park in London July 6.
