Melissa McCarthy on 'Gilmore Girls' Netflix Revival? Sookie Meets Up with Michel IRL!
The Netflix revival of beloved series Gilmore Girls , is shooting, and Melissa McCarthy said she wasn't invited to join the cast of Gilmore Girls for the Netflix reboot Gilmore Girls: Seasons, which is currently shooting. But the Oscar-nominated actress, who played Sookie St. James, just met up with co-star Yanic Truesdale, who played cranky B&B manager Michel, raising all sorts of questions.
Last Sunday, Truesdale posted an adorable selfie with the Ghostbusters actress, revealing he'd gone out for drinks with McCarthy and asking fans not to "read anything into it."
Still, fans of the show can only hope McCarthy will keep meeting with her former co-stars, and together they'll form an alliance and persuade her to appear even for a little bit. Please?
The last Netflix revival, Fuller House, failed to bag all the original cast members, as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen famously passed up on playing the role of Michelle Tanner again. Like the Olsen twins, McCarthy is also the most famous person from the old show, and she's even leaped to a career as a fashion designer, too.
Not long after the Gilmore Girls revival was announced, McCarthy took to Twitter to share that, while she'd love to appear, she hadn't been invited to join the new edition of the show. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino later said she was in contact with the actress' people, but seeing as she's one of the biggest comedy stars in Hollywood, it was tough to schedule an appearance.
Judging from McCarthy's IMDb page, the actress' work schedule doesn't seem as busy right now as it has in the past: Her show Mike & Molly just ended, and she has two films coming out later this year, The Boss and Ghostbusters.
Maybe she'll manage to squeeze in some time to return to Stars Hollow as the most adorable chef on television!
