Comedian Kathy Griffin's talk show has been cancelled by Bravo. The fiery red-head's talk show "Kathy" will not continue after two seasons on the air. The 52-year-old talk show host reportedly made the announcement during a live show in Cincinnati before posting the news on her Twitter account. Griffin's show "Kathy" was her second show after her successful debut Bravo show, "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List."
Griffin tweeted on Saturday in response to an article on Perez Hilton's website, "Sad but tru. Appreciate your kind words, PH. RT @PerezHilton: KG's Bravo Talk Show CANCELED After 2 Seasons!" The news comes as a surprise to fans after her original show was so successful. "Kath Griffin: My Life on the D-List" won two Emmy's for Outstanding Reality Program.
Good news for Kathy Griffin fans is that this may not be the last we see of the comedian on TV. There are rumors Griffin is shooting a show with her New Years Eve co-host Anderson Cooper. The CNN host recently just had his daytime talk show cancelled, making this rumored new show perfect for the both of them. Deadline.com reported back towards the end of March that Griffin and Cooper filmed a pilot episode in CNN studios in New York. According to the report, the pilot was shot in front of a live studio audience which included new CNN head honcho Jeff Zucker.
Griffin is known for making headlines with her controversial comments and antics. She isn't afraid to ruffle a few feathers, which make her pairing with Cooper so interesting. Griffin has co-host CNN's New Years Eve show the last couple years with Cooper. The last two years have ended in controversy over something Griffin said or did.
It will be interesting to see if Griffin and Cooper get a chance to host a new show together. They have made headlines with the New Years Eve gig, which is just one show a year. Could you imagine if they are paired together for a show every week or every day?
