Free at last, Free at last, Wesley Snipes is free at last.  The actor was released from a federal prison in Pennsylvania after serving more than two years for tax evasion.

Snipes was convicted in 2008 on tax charges. He was released Tuesday and placed under home confinement. A Bureau of Corrections spokeswoman said Friday he'll be overseen by the New York Community Corrections Office until July 19, according to the Associated Press.

Snipes ultimately blamed his legal problems on Eddie Ray Kahn, a tax expert and self-styled minister who advised Snipes and 4,000 other "clients" on ways to avoid paying their taxes, blogger Sandra Rose reported. Snipes earned $37 million between 1999 and 2004. A vast portion of his income went to Khan's ministry.

He entered the McKean prison in December 2010 to begin a three-year sentence for failure to file income tax returns.

Snipes is not the only high profile person investigated for tax evasion rumors of Lauryn Hill and rapper Nas's tax woes have swarmed the net in recent reports.
