'The Walking Dead' Season 6 SPOILERS: Will Lennie James/Morgan Meet Negan In Finale Debut?
"The Same Boat," the 13th episode of The Walking Dead Season 6 didn't have a shadow of Morgan Jones, but that doesn't mean that Lennie James' character isn't hard at work in Alexandria. The actor has just discussed the jail cell Morgan is building and confirmed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan)'s season finale debut will be "phenomenal!"
James recently spoke to ComicBook.com, where he stated that his character is working on the prison to keep Alexandria safe.
"Just because Morgan is saying that he doesn't want to kill people, it doesn't mean that he doesn't want to do something to protect the Alexandrians," James said, explaining that a better jail cell is a result of the character's disastrous encounter with his pet Wolf (Benedict Samuel).
"He knows just from past experience that this town is going to need a jail and it's going to need to be one that is more secure than the one he was in and particularly the one that the Wolf was in," he said.
The incident with the Wolf also had a lot to do with Carol (Melissa McBride), who ended up fighting with Morgan and giving the captive a chance to escape. Nevertheless, James feels that his character senses a strange bond with Carol.
"There is a connection between the two of them and at the moment, I don't know that Morgan knows what that means, it's just that he sees something in Carol and part of what he sees in her is the price," he said. "Maybe he sees what other people aren't seeing because he sees it within himself but he sees her for the choices that she's made and the choices that she's making and that both worries him, kind of scares him, and draws him towards her, I think."
It might take some time before Carol and Morgan learn to work around their issues. But the one thing that fans are really looking forward to is the debut of Negan. James couldn't help but tease about the villain's arrival in the season finale.
"It's a phenomenal entrance. I don't want to build it up too much but it's probably too late now. It's amazing," James said, adding that he feels that Negan's debut will amaze people.
"Jaws are gonna drop and people are gonna lose their s-t," he said. "It's gonna blow some people's minds and break some people's hearts."
Watch out for Negan's arrival in the season finale of The Walking Dead Season 6, which airs on AMC every Sunday nights.
