Mark Hamill Shares First Pic From Animated 'Batman: The Killing Joke' Film With Kevin Conroy
The DC Extended Universe might be releasing two major live-action flicks this year, but fans are also excited about the new animated adaptation of Alan Moore's classic graphic novel, Batman: The Killing Joke. Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor, Mark Hamill, who will once again provide the voice of The Joker in the film, is undoubtedly excited as he shared the first image from the movie on Twitter!
Hamill tweeted the still from The Killing Joke showing Batman grabbing The Joker's collar. The actor actually posted the image three times, each with a different line from The Joker. The first tweet reads, "THE 'All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy...Just one bad day,'" followed by another post with the caption, "KILLING 'Remember there's always madness... Madness is the emergency exit.'" The last tweet reads, "JOKE 'If I have to have a past, then I prefer it to be multiple choice.'"
Hamill is not the only one returning to provide his famous voice in The Killing Joke. Kevin Conroy, the long-time voice of Batman, has also been confirmed to come back as the Dark Knight. The news was confirmed to Comic Book Resources in a statement from both actors.
"The chance to work once again with Kevin Conroy, my favorite Batman, in what some consider the definitive origin of this iconic villain is a dream come true for me," Hamill said, and Conroy also shared his admiration for his costar.
"Mark always enables me to be a better actor," he said. "I'm thrilled that we're both back to bring these characters to life in one of the most heralded Batman/Joker stories of all times."
Batman: The Killing Joke will also mark the return of Tara Strong as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, who falls victim to the Joker in the comic book. The film is expected to be released later this year.
