Heading into the start of Week 2 of the MLB 2013 regular season, Bleacher Report sports columnist predicts the season outlook team power rankings. The Reds head into the 2013 regular season at the no 1 spot - as Reuter points out, "The Reds opened their season facing two of the league's most hyped teams in the Angels and Nationals. They proved they belong in the conversation for the league's best team by taking two of three from each of them. Ryan Ludwick was lost to a dislocated shoulder, but the offense is firing on all cylinders nonetheless with 38 runs scored to rank second in the MLB. Todd Frazier is hitting .480 with nine RBI, and newcomer Shin-Soo Choo is hitting .375 with eight runs scored. The team has a 3.00 ERA, with ace Johnny Cueto leading the way with a 2.77 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 13 innings of work. The bullpen has been stellar once again. As a whole, there is no better team top to bottom right now than the Reds."
Cincinnati currently holds a 4-2 winning record, having played the LA Angels and Washington Nationals in Week 1.
The Caridnals snag the no 9 overall spot (out of 30 teams). According to Reuter, "The Cardinals opened the season on the road against good Diamondbacks and Giants teams, and they lost two of three to Arizona before getting back to .500 against San Francisco. The offense ranks among the league leaders with 37 runs scored despite being without David Freese. They've gotten contributions from everyone, and infielders Matt Carpenter and Pete Kozma are the only regulars hitting over .300. Rookie Shelby Miller out-dueled Ryan Vogelsong in his season debut to pick up a win, and the rest of the rotation has pitched fairly well. The bullpen has struggled at times, and they'll anxiously await the return of closer Jason Motte from injury."
St Louis. heads into Monday's game with three wins and three losses after playing the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants in Week 1.
