Destiny's Child Reunite For One-Off Kelly Rowland Track: Beyonce, Michelle Williams Join Rowland On New Album "Talk A Good Game"
Hold on to your butts, Destiny's Child fans. Kelly Rowland, Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Michelle Williams have re-united for a one-off track for Kelly Rowland's new album Talk A Good Game, according to an interview Rowland gave to Billboard.
"It's not a Destiny's Child track, it's me featuring Beyoncé and Michelle," the "Kisses Down Low" singer said. (But we all know that a song featuring the trio on vocals IS a Destiny's Child song).
The new album, which drops June 4, is full of star-studded collaborative tracks. Rowland worked with Mike WILL Made It, Boy Wonder, Pharell, Wiz Khalifa and The-Dream for the album, which is supposedly a best of the best record, selecting twelve tracks from the "around 70-something" songs that Rowland recorded.
"I had to narrow it down to 12 - you know hard that is!" she says. "Especially when you're in love, like your heart pumps for 35 of them. I kept going back and forth with my A&R and my manager, we've all been on this incredible journey together, and they're just like 'Save it for the next album!' Because you just get so passionate and excited about these songs, you lived with them, you birthed them along with the producers. You become so attached."
The "Beyonce, Michelle Williams collaboration that is definitely not a Destiny's Child song" will be the first song for the trio together since "Nuclear", a Pharell-produced song that was the only new music on January's "Love Songs," a greatest hits compilation.
When asked to describe the song's sound, Rowland said one word.
"Soulllllll."
What do you think of the "absolutely not Destiny's Child, just happens to feature Kelly Rowland, Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Michelle Williams" track? Have you heard "Kisses Down Low" yet? Will you be picking up Talk A Good Game when it drops June 4?
