St. Patrick's Day 2016 has arrived and if you are feeling very lucky, if you should try watching a marathon of the Leprechaun horror/comedy movies. Pick and choose from the original Leprechaun, starring Warwick Davis (Willow), to the most recent Leprechaun Origins, featuring WWE superstar Dylan "Hornswoggle" Postl.

As we previously mentioned, the "Leprechaun" has several different meanings. It could be from the Irish Gaelic word "leipreachan," which actually means "a kind of aqueous sprite." The term also derives from "leath bhrogan," which means "shoemaker." Either way, this menacing killing machine will strike you down to get his gold.

Here are 3 Leprechaun movies you should watch for St. Patrick's Day:

3) Leprechaun 5: In The Hood

What do you do when after you have just launched a leprechaun into space, which is what happened in the fourth sequel? You take him to the streets, that's what! And as a bonus, Ice-T (Law & Order: SVU) shows up to keep it real.

The plot follows a group of rap artists who free a Leprechaun that was imprisoned by record producer Mac Daddy O'Nassas (Ice-T) 20 years earlier. The Leprechaun hunts down his enemies in order to recover his magic flute, which is somewhere in the projects.

2) Leprechaun Origins

As a standalone, horror fans get a twisted and darker take on the franchise that actor Warwick Davis started. You would think after playing the comic relief at live wrestling events that Hornswoggle would continue with the comedic take. But nope, this time Hornswoggle aimed for a snarling and no-nonsense creature.

The plot follows a group of American college friends as their vacationing at an Irish countryside takes an unexpected twist. One by one, they find themselves being hunted down by a monstrous pixie.

1) Leprechaun

This is where it all started! You have to be there and watch a young Jennifer Aniston before she showed up on Friends. You have to see if the former Mrs. Brad Pitt had the chops to be the final girl in the first installment. The original is played more of a low budget horror flick. Well that is until the Harry Potter actor steals the show and injects his own twisted brand of devilish humor into the role.

The plot follows J. D. Redding (John Sanderford) and his teenage daughter Tory (Aniston) as they rent the O'Grady farmhouse for the summer. The Leprechaun (Davis) is given motivation to come out of hiding when Tory's siblings end up stealing his bag of one hundred gold pieces. On a killing spree, the monster will never stop once he gets the last piece of his gold.

The Leprechaun movies are all available on DVD.
