Find Out Why Joker & Riddler Did Not Feature in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'
The early public reviews of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice suggests that the superhero film is not just good; it is great! However, one would wonder what this film could have been if the director, Zack Snyder, had shown The Joker and The Riddler in the feature.
In a recent interview with Collider, the Man of Steel director shed some light on why he did not include the clown prince of crime and Edward Nygma. The 50-year-old American director stated that he and film's screenwriter, Chris Terrio, did consider including The Joker and The Riddler, but in the end, they both chose to stick with the conflicts between DC's two most loved characters -- Batman and Superman.
"The Joker and The Riddler both came close to being in this movie. We talked about the possibility of putting them in. [Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie and that's cool, but I didn't want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict."
If fans remember, then the first teaser of the movie did show Robin's suit vandalized with the words : "HAHAHA joke's on you BATMAN," so it may come as a surprise to the millions of fans who have been waiting to see The Joker in Batman v Superman.
On the other hand, after Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, The Joker is finally getting his own movie. The character portrayed by Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger will now see Jared Leto bringing him to life in August. 2016's supervillain movie, Suicide Squad. On the other hand, The Riddler, as far as we know, has no movie in the near future.
Now, even without The Riddler and The Joker, BvS will be action packed, as it features Batman (played by Ben Affleck) and Superman (played by Henry Cavill) as well as Lex Luther (played by Jesse Eisenberg), Aquaman (played by Jason Momoa) and Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot).
