Elizabeth Olsen Talks 'Fuller House' - Was She Offered Mary-Kate & Ashley's Michelle Role?
Elizabeth Olsen, most famous for her role as Avenger Scarlet Witch, also happens to be the little sister famous Hollywood twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who started out on Full House. Last year, when Netflix announced they were making the revival series, Fuller House, the twins stepped down from reprising their role as Michelle Tanner making many wonder -- was their lookalike sister contacted?
E! News recently interviewed the Captain America: Civil War star and asked about those rumors of her being offered the role that made her sisters famous. While John Stamos claims he contacted Olsen's agent, the actress revealed she never had any knowledge of that.
"If I did, I'm pretty sure no one on my team heard it," Olsen said about being offered the role. "I don't know where that started."
The Avengers: Age of Ultron actress later found out the person who'd started the rumor had been Jeff Franklin, who created Full House and its revival, and she said she wouldn't be able to say anything bad about him because he's "known [her] since [she] was an infant."
Still, Olsen admits she saw the first episode of the revival (where her sisters are referenced and there's even a big inside joke about them) and loved it. Still, it seems unlikely at this point that she'll take over the role from her sisters, as she's got her own very busy career in Hollywood these days as an important part of the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Olsen twins were the only non-returning original cast members in the freshman season of Fuller House, while everyone else came back along a few new actors. Less than a week after Netflix released the revival's first season, it was announced that the show would be picked up for a second one, and cast members like Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) have said the fashion moguls are more than welcome to come back.
