FX's "The Americans" S04E02: 'Pastor Tim' Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys Premiere Recap

FX continues with the Season 4 premiere of The Americans. In episode 2, Pastor Tim, will Elizabeth (Kerri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) Jennings be able to keep their family safe as they go deeper undercover?

Elizabeth knows Stan was mad, But Philip doesn't want to tell her why. Philip then hides Glanders in a cooler for safe-keeping. Philip explains the argument with Stan was about Sandra; how they had drinks together. Elizabeth wants to know if Philip will take her to one of his meetings.

Gabriel (Frank Langella) explains he needs the codes to take Glanders out of the states. Philip though refuses to hold the deadly disease for him. Gabriel wants to the twosome to take his computer to give to the kids. This is the Centers way of communicating with them. 

Elizabeth continues to listen in on Paige's recordings and hears her talking to Pastor Tim. When Philip returns home, Elizabeth reveals what she heard. If they kill Pastor Tim, Paige will run; or they could leave. 

Stan (Noah Emmerich) learns his boss has to talk to Gene's parents about his suicide. Meanwhile, Philip breaks into Pastor Tim's place, looks over his books, and discovers something. Pastor Tim goes to a cabin to write his sermons. After avoiding Stan, Philip knows Paige will figure out her parents killed him. 

Nina (Annet Mahendru) meets with her husband, who reveals she didn't want to keep the baby. he has meet someone new in his life. Not everything goes the way as planned. Nina needs her husband to meet a certain person and hand him a package.

At a bus stop, Philip then hands over Glanders to an undercover pilot. After the pilot starts to crack, he brings the unwanted attention of a passenger. Philip then has to kill the passenger with his bare hands. Elsewhere, Elizabeth stalks around the cabin and turns on space heater.

After the bus makes its stop, Philip discovers the pilot left Glanders behind on purpose. He makes a run for it, leaving the dead body back on the bus. In his car, Stan meets with Oleg (Costa Ronin) the bad news; there will be no trade. Just because they were willing to work with each other; that doesn't mean they're friends.

Elizabeth wants Philip to make peace with Stan. Philip then tells her the story of how he killed a boy who was bullying him. Elizabeth then has a nightmare of her daughter being raped. In the morning, Philip has his meeting with William (Dylan Baker). During the meet, William wants Philip to not succeed with his Level 4 clearance. 

Gabriel then tells Elizabeth that her mother died. Nina was about to be set free until she gave her husband the note. Paige hugs Elizabeth after hearing her grandmother died. Paige's brother is across the block, having dinner with Stan. The kid asks for advice because he's in love with his science teacher. 

Paige then confesses to her mother what she told Pastor Tim. Philip comforts Elizabeth; they're in trouble,
