Several reports allege that New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has found a "new love" - with young Dominican Republic beauty, Rebeca Yunen Finke. The Diario Libre broke the dating news on Tuesday (April 9), claiming that a girl from Santiago has "stolen" the heart of the famous ballplayer. Little other details were made available about the alleged couple.
According to Yard Barker, A-Rod and Finke recently spent a romantic weekend together, and the injured MLB star even met with her father to gain his approval (A-Rod has yet to play with the Yanks this season due to a hip injury). Apparently, the "best paid player in baseball" and a friend arrived at the Cibao Airport in his $38 million Gulfstream IV airplane at approximately 8:09 a.m. A limousine then took him to the Gran Almirante Hotel, where he checked into the presidential suite under a false name. As Diario Libre explains, "He asked the authorities at the terminal to exercise maximum discretion regarding his arrival and departure."
Saturday evening (April 7), the new couple were spotted at the Sabrass Restaurant at Plaza Galerias Boulevard on Juan Pablo Duarte Avenue. A-Rod and his airplane companion then returned to the hotel together later that evening. They flew back to the States on Sunday.
Not much information about Finke was released, although Diario Libre reports that A-Rod's new 24-year-old love recently graduated with honors from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra with a Business Administration degree. Her father Alberto Yunen Zouain is a well-known businessman and her mother (Pamen Fink) is a distinguished lady from Puerto Plata. Rebeca is also allegedly the niece of Rafael Emilio Yunen, the director of the Centro Leon.
The MLB "playboy" was once romantically linked to WWE star Diva Torrie Wilson, but if these new reports are true, it looks like Rodriguez has found a new (and evidently younger) leading lady.
According to the breaking Diario Libre report, A-Rob and Yunen Finke first met about six months ago at a social event in Casa de Campo, La Romana.
